Roots in history, Inspiration for the future

The family of Alexandra K. Vovolini, with a strong tradition and footprint of almost a century in the field of financial publishing, comes from four branches.

On the side of Constantinos A. Vobolini's father, the roots of the family seem to reach Florence in the 13th century. The family settled, after papal persecutions due to liberal social beliefs, in Corfu. Her grandfather, Antonios S. Vobolinis, was born in 1859. His father was Spyridon Vobolinis (from Corfu) appointed diplomatic representative of the Ionian State at the High Gate. In Constantinople he met and married Hariklia Vamva (family of scholars). In 1909 he married Maria Skepasthianou, originally from a family of fighters from Crete, with whom he had two sons, Spyros (1910) and Konstantinos (1913).

THE HISTORY

On the side of Maria Vobolini-Xanthopoulou's mother, the family is located in Patras, dealing with the cultivation and trading of raisins, but also with commercial and business activities in general. Socrates' grandfather Xanthopoulos, an agronomist educated in Marseilles, arrived in Patras from Constantinople at the invitation of King George I, in order to propose solutions for the diseases that plagued the raisin crops.

The family of Alexandra K. Vobolini is a living example of the continuity and evolution that a family can achieve through generations dedicated to education, entrepreneurship and contribution to society. With roots that reach deep in time and stretch from Florence, Corfu to Crete and from Constantinople to Patras, the history of the Vobolini family is rich and related to important moments and personalities, as well as institutions of the 19th and 20th centuries. The strong legacy that continues to inspire and guide future generations of the family.
